G1X RACING today partnered with young Kiwi trainer Trent Busuttin to buy a much-admired I Am Invincible filly at the Inglis Premier sale.
Busuttin, who moves to his new Cranbourne training centre, went to $260,000 to secure the filly from South Australia’s Mill Park Stud production line of champions.
“I thought she would make a lot more than that,” Busuttin said. “We thought she was the filly of the sale so she is very good buying at that price.”
Sold as lot 371, the filly is out of the Umatilla mare Starts With A Kiss, the mother of a Snitzel colt called Gretna in the Chris Waller stable who has raced just once in the Inglis Nursery at Caulfield but has shown unlimited potential.
Busuttin and G1X Racing outbid David Hayes to secure the filly, Hayes also saying post-hammer that he thought the I Am Invincible yearling was the best female on the Oaklands grounds.
Mill Park was also thrilled with the sale after numerous inspections of the filly.
“She must have been out of her box at least 150 times and with her great attitude she never missed a beat,” Chris Watson from Mill Park said.
Mill Park has produced numerous Group 1 winners for Australian racing including Caulfield Cup winners Fawkner, Mummify and Southern Speed, along with top class performers like Divine Madonna, Undoubtedly, Happy Trails, Devil Moon and Gold Guru.
