Crystal Fountain was the highlight of a quality days racing at Bet365 Geelong on Wednesday. The regally bred mare, owned by global breeding powerhouse Coolmore made it four wins from as many starts, when winning the Hyland Race Colours BM70.
The Lee & Anthony Freedman trained 4yo Stravinksy mare had an economical run in transit sitting on the back of the leading duo, second favourite Verstappen and Foreign Affair, before drawing away for a reasonably soft win.
Jockey Mark Zahra told racing.com post race,
“I had the perfect trail, eased her out and she claimed them pretty quickly. She's got a big, high extravagant action, she gets a bit lost but I think it's just her. You just have to keep her as balanced as you can.”
“Going into the spring there should be a race or two for her.”
Team Freedman will obviously be looking at adding some Black Type to this beautifully bred mare’s page over the spring.
It was his first runner for over...
