14 time Victorian Picnic Premiership winning jockey Adam Bodey has joined the team this season to preview the picnics.
A popular strategy with any seasoned picnic enthusiast was just to back the great man all day wherever the non-Tab meeting was as invariably he'd boot home the most winners. A good source tells us that he had around a 35% winning strike rate around his vintage years!
Now he's tipping the winners to the punters and has given us his thoughts for the Yea attendees tomorrow:
Race 1, No 1 MY RUNNING MATE
Improved run at Wycheproof before going into this. Has the services of leading rider C.Pace coming off a winning treble last week at Balnarring. Should be hard to beat in what's a weaker maiden.
Race 5, No 8 QUATRE BELLE
This 6yo mare looks well suited to the 1600 around yea. Has reasonable professional form and the Fitzgerald stable are usually on the money when bringing one to the picnics. Has Goodwin on at 63kg which is a key indicator.
