Race 1 - Maree Madden-Melder Handicap (1800 METRES):
FOLLOW: Addison - 3rd. Only runner to really make any ground and did so from last. Has some upside this lightly raced mare from the Lindsay Park team and will eat up 2000m next time out. A bigger track could be more her go.
FORGIVE: So Splendid - 2nd. Looked to have every chance but just think tactically they got this race a little wrong earlier in the piece. Needed to make Royal Applause and Shenandoah work much more and they were allowed to cross far too easily. Getting costly but with more intent she arguably wins this. Rising Hope pulled up with issues as well which explains her complete failure after peeling off the inside and looking the winner for a few strides at the 250m.
FORGET: None. Don't think there was a whole between these and the margins reflect this.
Race 2 - Annette Daymon Handicap (2000 METRES):
FOLLOW: Angelucci - 2nd. He looks the best horse in this race going forward. Still a lightly raced 4 year old and handled a pretty decent class rise here. Another stride and he wins this and whether it's now or next prep, he has more to offer.
FORGIVE: Andrea Mantegna - 4th. The favorite needs more to go his way than this. Caught wide off a muddling tempo and he was forced to go for home early and hasn't...
