1. Ace High (2) 56.5kg
A multiple G1 winner having taken out the Champion Stakes and the VRC Derby in the spring, he's certainly a class galloper. Probably still a couple of furlongs short of his best trip and I think he'll find a few of these too sharp. In saying that, he's certainly worth including in your exotics from the good draw.
2. Trapeze Artist (10) 56.5kg
The G1 Golden Rose winner from the spring looks like he has returned in really good fashion. Was superb winning first up in the Expressway Stakes, before being only fair last time out in the Hobartville behind Kementari. Slight query at the trip as I think he may be better suited over 1200-1400, I'm happy to risk.
3. Kementari (4) 56.5kg
Our race favourite and deservedly so after being a dominant winner in both starts this preparation. Last time out, he was too powerful for many of his key rivals. Drawn perfectly in gate 4 to have the run of the race. He certainly seems to tick almost all the boxes.
4. Age Of Fire (13) 56.5kg
The sole Kiwi representative, winner of the G1 Levin Stakes back in January over the 1600m as well as running 2nd in the NZ 2000 Guineas late last year to Embellish. Would certainly appreciate the cut out of the track as his best form is on soft going. Draw doesn't help, but he's one of the better roughies.
