IPSWICH RACE 7 - 3:17PM CHANNEL 7 IPSWICH CUP (2150 METRES):
TRACK & WEATHER
Track: Soft 6.
Weather: Sunny, top of 23 degrees for the day.
1. Ecuador should be able to find the front comfortably enough from gate 2 with possibly 7. First Crush getting the chance to work across to park outside of him. Suspect Orman will be trying to be positive early on 10. Smart As You Think who's drawn out with the fav 2. Tradesman landing comfortably in the first 4-5 on settling.
THE KEY RUNNERS
He's no price but in what's not a strong edition of the Ipswich Cup, 2. TRADESMAN ($1.80) is safely the one to beat.
Ordinary in the Doomben Cup in his first Queensland run, he bounced with a solid performance behind Egg Tart in the P.J. O'Shea when overcoming the handy wet tracker Megablast late in the piece.
Form around his last win over the Warrnambool carnival has stacked up with three subsequent individual winners coming out of that and a third placing in the Swan Hill Cup. No world beating performances but off that 3 length romp it's nice to at least know the others are in pretty good touch themselves....
