Saturday night at one particular cinema in Sydney saw a line that went half-way down the street.
“We’re all here to see Rachel,” one movie goer revealed.
‘Rachel’ of course being the film ‘My Cousin Rachel.’
But you wouldn’t have blamed them for lining up to watch jockey Rachel King ride.
A city double at Rosehill last weekend for King broke new ground. But backing up that effort at Randwick on Saturday with yet another double was equally as, if not, more impressive.
A Wagga Cup win on Stampede and an ANZAC Cup on Slow Pace have been further highlights of late, as has out-riding her provincial claim.
She currently sits on 75 wins statewide in New South Wales for the season. The percentages suggest joining fellow Rachael, Rachael Murray, in bringing up three figures is going to be tough.
But with her confidence sky high, it’s not impossible.
“It helps when your confidence is up, and the horses feel it as well, it definitely rubs off on them a bit,” King told G1X.com.au on Saturday.
