Impressive Racing have enjoyed a surprise double at Belmont Park on Wednesday with Queen Of Tease ($47) and Sunset Pete ($71) blowing most punters out of the quaddie.
Trainer Darren McAuliffe and Impressive Racing are hoping this is the start of a big week, with three runners nominated for Saturday including the Group 2 WATC Derby Winner Gatting, who will be determined to turn the tables on Variation in the Listed Aquanita Stakes.
Five-year-old mare Queen Of Tease was beaten by 9 lengths last start when finishing last at Pinjarra, but with Frenchman Matthieur Autier back on board, she looked like a different galloper.
Wide, but on the back of Royal Attraction, Queen Of Tease set her eyes on the winning post well before the home turn and was able to hold off the fast finishing Caralabek.
Speaking post-race, McAuliffe said the team had considered retiring the mare after her disappointing performance last start.
“Last start was un-genuine and not like her, due to that we were considering retiring her”.
Three-year-old gelding Sunset Pete made it two from two for Impressive Racing, with Autier giving the thirteen-start maiden a great rail hugging ride.
