1. Redkirk Warrior (15) 57.5kg
A multiple Group 1 winner here at Flemington and has pigeon holed himself as a straight track specialist. The defending champion of the Newmarket beat the best sprinter in the country in the Lightning first up and is ideally drawn in 15. The knock has been his last two second up runs which have been terrible. Obviously still a major player.
2. Brave Smash (2) 56.5kg
Been a bit of a tease but did enough in the Futurity against Tosen Stardom and the first 3 there put a little space on the rest. He'll be strong at the end of this and just on a gut feel the straight will suit his style of racing. Barrier 2 poses as potentially his biggest issue here. Respecting him but that gate is a concern.
3. Lord Of The Sky (1) 52.5kg
Nothing went right in the Futurity and will be better suited dropping back to the 1200m, where he won't know himself with this weight. Wasn't all that far away in the CF Orr and the Flippant form has been franked from earlier in the prep. Concern is his class against these and barrier 1 isn't easy to lead from start to finish here. Can't see him threatening.
4. Rich Charm (5) 52.5kg
A bomb-proof customer and the people's pick here, who keeps rising to every new challenge. Unlucky in the Rubiton and drops 5kg off that run. Clearly his toughest task to date but has fo...
