The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board have adjudicated on the Aquanita Inquiry.
The penalties for the illegal treatment of horses on race day were handed down at the County Court in Melbourne today.
Prominent trainer Robert Smerdon has received a life ban alongside stable hands Greg and Denise Nelligan who were also disqualified from racing for life.
The other people involved in the scandal have received varying sanctions.
Trainers Stuart Webb has copped a four-year ban, Tony Vasil a three-year ban, Trent Pennuto a two-year ban and Liam Birchley a one-year ban.
Additionally, stable hand Daniel Garland has been disqualified for one year.
Smerdon may also face a hefty financial sanction for his involvement in the doping saga.
