It's been a patient wait for Frankie Stockdale to get Eminent Son back to the races with the now 4 year old set to take his place tomorrow at Sandown in the Polytrack Handicap (Race 5), a Benchmark 70 over 1000m.
Most of Stockdale's trade involves on-selling horses, however without having success in doing so after purchasing Eminent Son for $100,000 at the 2015 Gold Coast 2yo's In Training Sale, the offers still didn't come up after this son of Husson broke his maiden at Pakenham in June of 2017 before backing that up with a win at Sandown eight days later.
"There's a price tag for most of my horses and that's what a lot of my business is." Stockdale said.
"Eminent Son has had no major issue despite the long-layoff. He was mainly just jarring up but he's fit and ready for tomorrow and it's up to him now."
Stockdale who is now training on-course at Pakenham with around fifteen horses in the stable has another talented galloper on the comeback trail in Unique Lovely. The trainer has a good opinion of this 4 year old mare by Bel Esprit who in June and July of last year won three races in a row, including two at metropolitan level.
"Unique Lovely holds a nomination for Moonee Valley on Saturday which at this stage we're heading to." Stockdale said.
"She's has been ticking over very well in her recent work and looks to have come on from her trial going back a few weeks ...
