Caulfield Race 2, No. 11 JACQUI'S JOY
Bombed the start then tacked on to come home hard in the last 200m on wet ground at Mornington first up for fourth in a good fresh run where not much made ground (last Saturday's dominant Bendigo Guineas winner So Far Sokool ran third). Is 2/3 at the Caulfield 1400m which includes a second up win and comes in in 1.5kg under the minimum after the claim. Not the strongest BM78 and she looks a knockout chance at the big quote. $19.00.
Randwick Race 1, No. 1 MUSWELLBROOK
Appreciated the step up to 1500m following his debut at 1200m and was a pretty comfortable winner on Mornington Cup day with the first two belting the rest. His best work was late and the mile/third up look big ticks. Was snagged back in that win but did show good gate speed so Zahra may look to take more of an advantage from barrier 1. No world beaters here, he has some upside and is a big each way price. $11.00.
Sunshine Coast Race 8, No. 6 CABEIRIAN
Brave effort as runner up on a Heavy 10 first up where he just too far out of his ground but he'll strip much fitter from that run. Generally likes to settle on the speed and he'll get every chance from barrier 2 and it won't be as wet. Was going through the grades nicely last prep before going to Sydney when at the end of a prep, finished within 3 lengths...
