It is hard to believe that Saturday's Doomben meeting will mark ten years since sprinting phenomenon Takeover Target won the 2007 Doomben 10,000.
It's an anniversary worth celebrating and one that his trainer, taxi driver turned international racing star Joe Janiak, is only too happy to reminisce about.
"Bloody oath I'm happy to talk about it," said Janiak.
"I was only talking to a bloke about the 10,000 the other day, he said it must have been ten years, people that loved him remember those things."
And as Janiak continues an ongoing journey around Australia it seems that there are plenty of people that remember Takeover Target, the horse the trainer knew as Archie.
After Takeover Target was euthanised in 2015 following a freak paddock accident Janiak got behind the wheel and hit the road again, trading a taxi for the mobile comfort of a winnebago with his partner Shayne.
"We've been going for about 21 months," Janiak said.
"We've been right around (Australia) once and now we're going through the middle. We parked it (the winnebago) in Alice Springs and popped back to Coffs for a week or so but we're off again. We'll make our way up to Darwin for the Cup in August.
