No. 7 COULEUR BIZARRE has been knocking on the door this campaign. He's had four runs and never finished worse than fourth. The step up in distance is ideal and Paul Harvey takes the ride. No. 3 Cincinnati Boy looks the main danger to our on top selection. The first-up run was only fair at Pinjarra, but the extra distance and better barrier should see him improve second-up. No. 4 Doolan raced well last start at Narrogin over 1720m and those form lines are holding up. However, he has had 15 starts and never placed. No. 8 Flare Path is hoping to break through for her first win in start 12. She's been racing well over 1400m and the step up should suit.
Win bet No. 7 Couleur Bizarre (take the $2 available, he'll start much shorter). Exacta 7,3.
I think this is the best each-way chance of the day, No. 12 CORRENTE. I think the form lines behind Touch Of Silver will hold up and she impressed after being impeded down the straight. She's drawn awkwardly but I think this filly has a lot of upside. No. 8 Krakka Vision will be the favourite but she has hurt punters plenty of times already. She's been the beaten favourite in her past three runs at $1.60, $2.70 and $2.80. She's had a freshen up and trialled well but she's not getting my money. No. 2 Shrewd Gamble comes from the same race as Corrente. He attacked the line strongly and is drawn well here and Paul Harvey takes the ride. He is another that with some luck from the inside can win the race. No. 1 Stanton Abbey showed some class last campaign and with the 2kg claim this looks a winnable race. He comes in without a trial so look for any early money.
Each-way No. 12 Corrente. Boxed trifecta with No. 1,3,7,8,12.
We have to have a bet in one of the Listed races of the day. No. 1 SHOWY CHLOE was our best bet last time she raced, but she was given absolutely no chance, going way too hard through the early stages and tiring late. William Pike takes the ride now and although drawn in barrer 10 and up in the weight, I think her class will shine through here. No. 2 Let It Slip was a MORAL beaten last start at Ascot. I can't remember seeing a horse being held up so badly. She's drawn nicely in barrer 6 and with Jarrad Noske back on, they can replicate what they did two starts ago when they won the 3YO Magic Millions. No. 8 Glitterbell beat Let It Slip last start and wasn't too far away in the Magic Millions. Her form is very strong and she's drawn perfectly in barrier 4. The 1400m is a big bonus. No. 3 Pushin' Shapes has done nothing wrong this campaign. His form is around strong runner and with Paul Harvey taking the ride, he's another that will attack the line strongly.
Boxed trifecta 1,2,3,8.
Leg 1) 2,3,8
Leg 2) 1,2,3,8
Leg 3) 2,3,4
Leg 4) 1,6,8,9,10
