No. 8 AMELIA'S LOVE was given a quiet trial but still won comfortably. She's drawn well here and should only improve from that performance. She looks to have some class and should be very hard to beat. No. 5 Wings Of Hope has been racing well this campaign with back-to-back seconds. The blinkers go on for the first time this campaign but she has drawn wide. No. 6 Trifles raced well first-up finishing second over 1100m. She can put some speed in the race and is drawn well from barrier 4. No. 3 Ronboy for trainer Adam Durrant trialled well and with only 55.5kg can run into the top 3.
Win bet No. 8 Amelia's Love. Quinella with No. 5,8/5,6,8.
No. 1 FESTIVE EXCESS has had excuses recently but everything looks to match up well for him here. He's drawn well in barrier 4 and the 1108m should suit. Peter Knuckey takes the ride and he can lead or take the sit. No. 4 Flying Reputation was beaten by Festive Excess last start but should improve here. Conditions weren't in his favour last start and he'll be the one putting the speed into the race. No. 9 Formula One impressed in her two runs this campaign finishing third on both occasions. She has a nice turn of foot and the speed in the race should suit her. No. 8 Dance Mindy Dance can win this race with her best form. Renee Forrest is back from injury and will be hoping she can break back through here.
Win bet No. 1 Festive Excess.
We thought we better find a winner in the Cup race and I've settled on No. 3 ANGOLA. He is an impressive stayer and broke thorugh for his first win in the west last start over 1800m. He's drawn barrier 16 which isn't ideal, but William Pike had plenty of choices in this race and he's elected to stay with the 7yo. The $4.20 is a good enough price for me. No. 12 Tonto is an honest 4yo who always runs on strongly. There's some good speed in this race, which should suit him and the blinkers are on. No. 7 Cougar Nights is in career best form and should give this race a shake. The 2000m may just be too far for him, but Jarrad Noske knows this gelding well and he'll save him up for one last run. No. 4 Bedamijo was disappointing last start but I think she needed the run. She's drawn barrier 1 and should dictate terms.
Win bet No. 3 Angola.
