Race 4, No. 1 CANFORD
Might have a bit on these class-wise. Terrific return at Strathalbyn where that form has been franked and is open to improvement again here stepping up in trip. Has a nice future this 4yo and looks awfully hard to beat here.
Race 5, No. 3 EXALTED TRAIL
Clearly needed the run first up, covered ground and was a big drifter late in the betting ($3.70-$5.50). Is at each way odds of $10 where he draws kind and this isn't strong with a $1.70 fav that looks rock bottom in the market.
The Will Clarken stable have a terrific winning strike rate of 41.2% at Gawler so far this season and he saddles up 3 runners at this meeting.
Race 7, No. 8 SET TO CRUISE
This is one of his toughest challenges to date but is going well and has been supported at a price early ($8.00 - $4.50)
Leg 1: 3,5,12
Leg 2: 2,3,5,7
Leg 3: 2,4,6
Leg 4: 2,7,11
$54 gets you 50%.
Race 1: 1-4-2-3. Happy to lean the way of the race experience where she did win well. Betting might tell us more as there's a lot of unknowns here.
Race 2: 6-2-3-8. Freshened up a little and back in trip suits where Kah may be able to dictate this from the front.
Race 3: 3-1-4-6. He's about due and should get the run of the race from 1. Pretty competitive line-up, though.
Race 4: 1-4-3-6. Best Bet see above.
Race 5: 3-12-5-6. Bolter see above.
Race 6: 3-2-7-5. Looks a bit of a raffle but the blinkers did the trick last start. This is harder but draws for a soft run.
Race 7: 4-2-6-7. Barrier is a little sticky but is searching for this journey now and gets in very well with the 3kg claim.
Race 8: 11-2-7-8. Broke her maiden over this track/trip with authority. Much more depth here but she has upside.
