No. 6 Great Glen has been good in both Australian runs, drawn well and the rise in trip looks ideal. No. 5 Lookin' At You has won his last two starts in nice style. He is rock hard fit and I like that he is a winner at this track/distance. No. 1 My Giuliano will run a much improved race now that he is fitter and No. 3 Mortar Platoon has drawn to get a perfect run throughout.
Race 2, No. 0
No. 8 Fifth Affair backs up after a very good run at Randwick earlier this week. She is a talented horse who will be ready to peak now and 1300m looks ideal. No. 4 Icon Of Dubai is a well bred colt who worked home well on debut at Canterbury. He will be fitter now and the extra trip will really suit this colt. No. 1 Serena Bay is a very nice filly who has come back well this prep. She will appreciated the drop in grade, but I think her last start effort on a heavy track might have flatened her. No. 3 Go Daddy Go can improve now that he is fitter. Nice horse.
Race 3, No. 0
No. 6 Loves A Hassle is unbeaten in both career starts and if he can get luck from the awkward draw then he should be very competitive again. No. 8 Don't Doubt Her has a very nice first-up record and she should appreciate the good track. No. 3 Moss My Name is a consistent mare who will be in the race for a long way if she can get some luck from the draw. No. 2 Ruthless Agent is racing well and he has drawn to get every chance.
Race 4, No. 0
No. 4 Palazzo Pubblico didn't do much first-up at Rosehill, but her recent trial suggests that she is back on target. She has drawn perfectly and her record at this trip is good. No. 9 Old North was only fair last prep but his two trials this time in show that he might be in for a very nice prep. He is a smart horse who will be storming home late. No. 2 Felines has had a little break since her last start fifth in the group 1 Galaxy. Her form is top class and barrier four ensures a lovely run. No. 3 Clearly Innocent resumes for his new stable. He is a top class galloper who will be better suited over further.
Race 5, No. 0
No. 6 Astara is a former kiwi galloper who has trialled very well on both occasions this time in. Her overseas form is good and she is unbeaten at this distance. No. 1 Better Not Blue has come back well this prep and if he can settle closer to the speed from the good draw then he could be too good for this field. No. 4 Encosta Line will be better suited over further, but he has trialled well this time in and I wouldn't be surprised if he ran a big race fresh. No. 3 Liapari will be attacking the line strongly late.
Race 6, No. 0
No. 10 Shillelagh has had a freshen up since her last start failure in the Group 1 Coolmore, but has been kept up to the mark with a nice recent trial. She is a talented mare on her day and she should get every chance to run on from the back in this. No. 2 Artistry has been good in both runs back this prep and I expect her to be very competitive again from the gun draw. No. 8 Daysee Doom is a consistent galloper who always runs a brave race. She is a winner at this track and if she can get some luck from the draw then she will finish in the top 3. No. 5 Slightly Sweet has trialled well leading into this and both jockey and trainer are flying. Chance at odds.
Race 7, No. 0
No. 5 Calanda had no luck first-up and looked in trouble, but he knuckled down late to score a very nice victory. This gelding is the real deal and he is going to be even better over the longer distance on Saturday. Follow this horse when he goes up to QLD for the carnival. No. 4 Spright is a tough filly who has been competitive behind some very nice horse this prep. She has drawn well in barrier two and she will love racing on her home track. No. 14 Bye See is a lightly raced filly who is showing very good ability. The rise in trip looks ideal and I expect Kathy to give her a gun ride from barrier 3. No. 3 Generalissimo is racing well, but he will need some luck from the draw.
Race 8, No. 0
No. 6 Spectroscope couldn’t have been more impressive in his first two Australian starts then didn’t handle the Randwick heavy and barrier 20 in the Doncaster, back on the dry and a better draw will see him go very close to winning here. No. 14 Ruling Dynasty ran on strongly first-up and should appreciate the rise in trip. Watch for him late. No. 13 Moher will improve now that he is fitter and No. 1 Mighty Lucky is a tough animal who rarely runs a bad race.
Race 9, No. 0
No. 13 Gambler's Blues had been kept fresh since his last start fourth in the Wellington Cup. He has some nice form and he should get the run of the race from barrier two. No. 12 Not A Gypsy has trialled well this time in and 1500m looks perfect for him first-up. No. 1 Beretta won well last start and he should be ready to peak now. No. 15 Hammond Lane can run a cheeky race with no weight on his back.
