Great race for No. 8 STATIC REACT, ticks all the boxes today being third-up and drawing well. Wasn't far off a good one at Hobart two weeks ago and this is much easier. Should be too good for them. No. 4 Quiet Wonder is starting to prove frustrating, didn't have a whole lot of luck at Hobart seven days ago and is flipped around on the quick back-up. The 1200m looks more his go but will need some room from the inside. He can win if he can peel off at the 400m. No.1 Etown made really good ground in probably what was the worst part of the track in the same race as our Static React. The pattern might not necessarily suit today but if they go mad up front he'll be hitting the line hard. No.5 Can't Decide is the next best off a quiet trial. The claim from S Maher is a bonus.

Great race. I was really taken with the way that No.4 CHABUAD won at Moonee Valley two weeks ago over the 2040m. It's always tough work making ground at The Valley and the fact she didn't have it all her own way as well give plenty of merit to the win. This has always been her grand final. Tempo looks genuine so if M Zahra can slot in with cover somewhere midfield or worse she'll be very hard to beat. No. 6 All That I Know was unlucky in the Strutt Stakes, she was put in a near impossible position but made very good ground rounding horses to finish on their heels. Just peaked on her run, and understandably so, but from the better draw she'll be closer to them and a definite winning chance. Sydney-sider No. 3 Sweet Redemption is jumping from 1550m to 2100m today, which is a big ask. Won well leading all the way at Canterbury two weeks ago but had a party in front and didn't beat much. This is a big step up. No. 2 Sebring Sally had all the favours in the Strutt and duly saluted for us. I think it won't be as easy today from the awkward draw and with D Oliver coming off. If she can slot one-one again though I can see her going close.

Another good race and it looks a picnic for No. 3 I LOVE IT. She was unlucky to go down a nostril in the Bow Mistress when I thought S Baster pulled the trigger too early. Second-up and racing over 1400m from the inside draw, she'll again settle just in behind the speed and all she'll need is some room from the 400m to win. Worth remembering that when second-up last spring she was unlucky not to beat the likes of Vezalay and Tuscan Sling! No.1 Danestroem is the clear danger, M Kent has his horses absolutely flying at the moment. This mare beat the Stakes-class Anaphora twice in December before a quick let-up when returning at Sale. She led and faded but stuck on okay. Expect good improvement into this today and if she finds a soft enough lead she'll be tough to beat. No. 4 Lilly Dazzler only finished three lengths off them in a G3 Blazer Stakes over 1400m and if she repeats that effort should could have her way in this. No.9 Erins Element is the best of the locals – closed well from the tail in the Bow Mistress and 1400m suits.
