  • Rail Position: Soft 5 (main track soft 6 for the 2 jumps races).
  • Track Conditions: +3m 1000m-W/P, True Remainder Sectional 604m
  • Track Comments: Just monitor if they're getting off the fence as the card wears on. Seemed to play well last week but it had a rest prior to that meeting.

Race 5, No. 8 SHOP TIL I DROP

Sticking with this well bred and lightly raced mare in form who is aiming for a hat trick of wins following a brilliant third up victory from a tricky spot and the extra trip only looks a positive. A little more depth to this but it certainly isn't the strongest BM70 and she stays in on the minimum for the powerful Vorster/McEvoy combination.

Went nowhere at cricket score odds when out of her depth in a high pressure Group 3 Springs Stakes but won softly at BM90 level the start prior off a freshen up and is all the way back to a mares BM75 here. Placed twice at BM78 level in Victoria last prep when coming off group failures, so can bounce back and is each way odds at $7.50.

Todd Pannell put on a clinic last Saturday on the Parks track with 3 winners and 2 placings and after scratchings, he has 3 rides at this meeting

Only fair on resumption and is well up in grade. Has a very good winning strike rate, though and punters have specked him at a price early ($8.50 - $6.50).

Leg 1: 8

Leg 2: 1,2,3,5,8

Leg 3: FIELD

Leg 4: 1,6,9,11

$35 gets you 25%.

Race 1: 5-6-1-2. Frankly Harvey returned to winning form at Sandown and Fawke jumps off the Hickmott runner to ride. He may able to dictate this small field from the front.

Race 2: 2-3-1-7. Ascot Gold is building a good jumping record and was only second up when powering away to score at Ballarat. Carries a similar weight today as the short favorite.

Race 3: 3-1-7-2. Query is the soft track but Hearty Lass bolted in to win a 100k race on debut and a subsequent listed and Group 3 winner came out of that. Draws barrier 1 for Raquel Clark.

Race 4: 5-2-1-7. Many hopes here.and My Four Oh Nine has been the most consistent of late. Not as bottomless here which should suit, although he's running out of chances.

Race 5: 8-6-3-5. Best Bet see above.

Race 6: 1-3-2-5. Bolter see above.

Race 7: 3-4-6-7. Open race and they're all capable on their day. Arrow Lane spotted 5kg to a progressive type a fortnight ago, should find the front and better suited to this trip.

Race 8: 6-11-9-1. Up in grade for Nistaan but that may have just been the kill he needed second up and most of these are hit or miss. Spalding Cove could be one at a big price for the exotics. He did have excuses following a freshen up.
