  • Rail Position: Out 8m 1200m-W/Post; Out 5m the Remainder. Sectional 610m
  • Track Conditions: Good 4
  • Track Comments: A few showers around which can affect on the main track if they hit, especially the inside which can really chop out if it gets soggy enough. Monitor the patterns and weather over the day.

This Weir trained galloper was a deserving winner last start at Caulfield after a string of good performances and he did it stylishly in the end. There looks to be more depth in the other races he's contested this prep to what he's facing here and it's a one turn sprint on this track, so is well drawn in barrier 12 given his racing pattern. Has a very nice turn of foot and can storm over the top of these late.

Race 5, No. 8 HUSSYBAY

Forced back to the last from the wide barrier but has gone enormous fresh with the bad gate being the difference in the end. Consistent and tough galloper that looks set for a good prep, he gets in superbly with the smart claim for Justin Huxtable and won when stepping from 1200m to a mile last prep. Ticks a lot of boxes here and is at a nice quote.

Darren Weir is striking at better than 27% at Morphettville this season and has runners in 5 of the 8 races at this meeting.

Race 3, No. 3 MUSIC BAY

The $4.60 looked a bit generous and the punters agree. Is into $2.80.

Leg 1: 8,12

Leg 2: 1,2,3,4,5,8,9

Leg 3: 3,6

Leg 4: 3,9,14,16,17,18

$42 gets you 25%.

Race 1: 2-3-4-6. They should run the quinella and the tempo is crucial. If Kah doesn't get a picnic in front on the fav then Ceylon can figure late in the piece.

Race 2: 3-2-4-9. Will get back but the time he won it last start looks terrific for this and he's fitter now. Big watch on Broadband fresh too, who's had 3 trials leading in.

Race 3: 3-4-7-1. Maiden win was sound and the recent trial since the freshen up was first class.

Race 4: 3-8-13-4. Best Bet see above.

Race 5: 8-12-9-4. Best Value see above.

Race 6: 1-5-3-8. Probably the smartest horse in the race if right but fresh & no trials? It's an absolute raffle of a race.

Race 7: 6-3-5-1. Leicester is a lovely galloper and his best win but respecting Skillful Steps, who looks over the odds.

Race 8: 17-16-3-18. Always performs on this track and he likes a freshen up. Might be the each way bet at double figures in a pretty open race.
