We have a very small field in this, I'm going with the regally bred Fastnet Rock colt 4. Zeppelin from the Waterhouse camp, he was very good on debut after having three barrier trials and will appreciate the rise to 1400m on the bigger track second up, I think he will win this and go onto bigger things. 4. Coulthard was also very good on debut and wasn't beaten very far, he will be fighting out the finish with my top selection. 1. Medal Kun won a pretty weak race at Hawkesbury last time out but can run a drum in this event. 2. Euro Gold is limited but is next best.

A lot of unknowns in this 8 horse field, I'm going with 4. DIAMONDS ARE who was first past the post at its debut run but was protested against by the classy Russian Revolution, he should get a lovely run in transit from barrier one and prove too strong for this field. 3. Comfortable has been trialling well and being by Foxwedge he should handle the wet track. 6. Daytime Dancer should be peaking third up and can fill a placing. Big watch on 10. Mystic Award.

Very nice edition of the Newcastle Newmarket Handicap, I think 2. CHETWOOD will return to the winners stall today, at his first two runs this prep he has just gone too hard in front, he should be peaking third up and will be high balling in front and prove too hard to catch. 1. Happy Clapper is a very classy horse and put in a massive performance first up from a spell on Canberra Cup day, he will be giving them a start but look for him late. 4. Snippets Land is always thereabouts but doesn't win out of turn. 7. Too Good To Refuse is a very interesting runner brought down from Queensland and is next best.
