  • Rail Position: Normal.
  • Track Conditions: Good 3.
  • Track Comments: They were looking for the outside here on Saturday quite early on although the last winner did it safely enough around the middle lane. Still be favoring those from there out in the run home.

Race 7, No. 7 LADY SOMA

Lightly raced mare from the astute Sue Jaensch yard and this looks an ideal starting point for the prep amongst a field where most are non-winners. Has won 2 from 4, both of them have come fresh and her only real failure was when thrown in the deep end behind Nature Strip and Sunlight before being tipped out.

Coming here as a maiden runner but over the journey, his form has been okay and is getting out to his right trip now third up. Seemingly draws to get on the right part of the track from 11, big jockey change with Holder on and fresh he got home well behind a subsequent listed winner. Each way/1x3, he's value at $9.

Raquel Clark is coming off a winning treble at Penola yesterday, has a terrific strike rate when combining with the Grant Young which she'll do twice on this card and overall has 4 rides for the day.

I felt the time to back her was last start here when she was $7 in a bad race but she did win it softly in the end and has been well supported to make it 2 in a row ($4.60 - $2.90).

Leg 1: FIELD

Leg 2: 1,2,4,7,8

Leg 3: 7

Leg 4: 1,5,10

$60 gets you 50%.

Race 1: 2-4-1-5. Azurite is probably the one on form but it is a Donkey Derby and none of them win out of turn.

Race 2: 1-4-2-6. Has the weight to carry but is 2/2 over the jumps this prep. Respect the stable mate who got home well on Saturday.

Race 3: 1-3-4-2. Showed ability in his first prep and it was a smart return at Strathalbyn. Short but should be going on with it now.

Race 4: 3-2-4-1. Been ticking over okay over the flat and the only local runner in this pretty open little jumps race.

Race 5: 10-4-7-6. Really tough one. Just at the the e/w price leaning with Sugar With That who didn't have much luck in town last start but it's a near impossible race.

Race 6: 8-1-7-3. Bolter see above.

Race 7: 7-1-13-12. Best Bet see above.

Race 8: 5-1-10-6. If it comes down to ability then Winning Partner should spank them but inside gate and coming off a few poor efforts, I can't take the $1.80. Each way/1x3 Bohemian Forest at $8 looks the better bet.
