  • Rail Position: Normal.
  • Track Conditions: Good 4.
  • Track Comments: Oakbank can throw up anything. Monitor any patterns over the card.

Race 8, No. 7 DESPATCH

Won well first up on Adelaide Cup day when ridden like a good thing, has a decent weight swing on Everyday Lady from that and was backed for a stack in the Manihi before going rogue. Trialled since which he passed, barrier 12 isn't necessarily a disadvantage here and if right, he should just win.

Even line-up but he has habit of going around at a price and running well whilst he has Oakbank form. Returns from a short spell, has been in the money in 6 of 9 fresh runs and was competitive without luck in some stronger events last prep. Can run a cheeky race for the roughie or exotic players.

Grant Young and Raquel Clark combined for three winners at Murray Bridge on Wednesday and overall they have a very strong winning strike rate of 33%. Raquel has 2 rides for him today.

Race 7, No. 8 MELI MELO

Local that ran a race at big odds a fortnight ago and has been supported at a long quote today ($17.00 - $8.00).

Leg 1: 1,2,4,5,7,11

Leg 2: 1,2,5,7,8,11,12

Leg 3: 7

Leg 4: 4,6,14

$63 gets you 50%.

Race 1: 2-8-9-4. Third up and dropping back from a Group 2. Appears as the obvious and respect Roselli Sting at double figures. Fit and finished off well behind the fav last time they met.

Race 2: 2-3-6-1. Killarney Kid actually meets Murphy's Delight 2kg better off for a near 4 length win here last start. Short but just wins off that.

Race 3: 1-5-3-4. Most of these like taking their turn so treading carefully. Table Of Wisdom gets in well with the claim and may be the value but there's plenty of chances.

Race 4: 5-2-6-10. Steps out to 1400m third up and is unbeaten over this trip. Third albeit well held at Mornington last start but the quinella are stakes class. That's good enough for this.

Race 5: 1-2-5-3. Enjoy the feature but it's another jumps race with yet another sub $1.30 favorite. Just no punting propositions unfortunately.

Race 6: 5-7-11-4. Bolter see above.

Race 7: 1-7-8-12. Tough race to line-up. Query on how well Prize Catch is going but did have excuses at Caulfield second up, tongue-tie goes on and is the class runner of this field. Respect the betting.

Race 8: 7-1-9-3. Best Bet see above.

Race 9: 6-4-14-3. Was a good winner first up for the new stable and this doesn't appear to be much harder. Drawn out but can go on with it.
