Race 4, No. 5 CHEER LEADER
What is a very tough card outside of Winx this looked very impressive when leading all the way around the Valley giving her rivals no chance running .6 off Sunlight's William Reid win. This is clearly her toughest test to date and she has already had good support. Great push that Frosty Lane elects to ride her instead of Kiamichi which he won the slipper on.
Race 5, No. 2 ENCRYPTION
Will be more suited here dropping back against his own age at set weights after racing in all the tough group 1 sprints where he has been far from disgraced always finishing on their heels. Not sure how good the Kiwi filly is but with Bowman on board and has drawn an alley he looks a nice each way play at $7 on what looks to be a tough day.
How can you go past the great mares stats. After today she would have raced 43 times for 37 wins and 3 seconds, close to 26.4 million in prize money. The last time she was defeated was over 4 years ago ridden by the great Jao Moreira.
Race 8, No. 14 GALLIC CHIEFTAIN
Been a good little go for this to take out the Sydney Cup after his barnstorming finish last week in the wet. Opened up $18 and is now into $10 with Glen Boss to ride fresh off his Doncaster win.
Leg 1: 7
Leg 2: 4,5,10,11,12,14,15,16
Leg 3: 1,2,4,5,7,14,18
Leg 4: 3,5,6,10
$224 gets 100%
Race 1: 1-2-11-3. Is always running on from the rear of the field against the better sprinting 2yo's and looks the likely type to stretch out to the mile. Watch betting as they are staying horses in the making.
Race 2: 4-1-11-12 Very tough race, sticking with the proven horses here but not taking anything away from the up and comers who have won in great style.
Race 3: 3-5-2-7. Very even race as expected this Provincial Championship. Hits this third up and is better on good ground.
Race 4: 5-3-6-1. Best see above.
Race 5: 2-11-1-7. Value see above.
Race 6: 2-3-5-1. VRC Oaks winner that has been ticking along well on heavy tracks. Better suited on top of the ground and we know she will stay the trip. Fav is vulnerable over the trip and on better going due to her extravagant galloping action.
Race 7: 7-8-4-2. Happy retirement sweetheart.
Race 8: 10-16-5-4. UK visitor trained by Appleby who brought over last years Melbourne Cup winner. Tough race as expected but relying on he's not here for a holiday.
Race 9: 1-4-14-18. Best mare in the race that clearly had a bad hair day last week in the doncaster and deserves another chance.
Race 10: 5-10-6-3. Will need luck from an inside draw as she does get back and likes to come to the outside of them. If she runs up to her William Reid performance she wins.
