Race 5, No. 1 BENNELONG DANCER
Resumes with a very handy first up record and draws to get a soft run throughout. Competed in the rich country championships last prep winning a heat and then finished on the winners heels of the talented Noble Boy in the final. Will find this easier and should be going very close.
Race 3, No. 1 HIGH POWER
Drops back from Saturday grade to an easier benchmark and looks way over the odds here at $9 considering he beat home the third favourite in Makdanife by a length in that race. Gets the help of Clenton’s 2 kilo claim and is better on top of the ground, looks the each way play of the day.
James McDonald rode 27 winners here last season with a 28% winning strike rate, he also had better than a 54% place strike rate. He has 6 nice rides today.
Race 1, No. 7 LUVIOR
Leg 1: 1,3,4,6
Leg 2: 1
Leg 3: 1,7
Leg 4: FIELD
$36 gets you 50%.
Race 1: 1-7-3-8. Majority are unraced juveniles and will pay to watch the market.
Race 2: 2-8-3-4. Hard to go past this even though he prefers the cut out of the ground as he draws to get the run of the race and there is no depth to it.
Race 3: 1-3-5-8. Value see above.
Race 4: 3-1-6-4. European import resuming the start of his second preparation in Oz. Has had time to settle in and should go close after a nice trial leading into this.
Race 5: 1-2-5-3. Best see above.
Race 6: 1-7-12-5. Looked good winning last start when stepped up to a middle distance trip for the first time and should further improve off that. Will dictate the race and be hard to beat.
Race 7: 1-9-11-6. Resumes and hasn’t missed a drum in 3 first up runs. Is at home on top of the ground but does have to carry weight in this open race.
