Warwick Farm trials - March 10

Telperion had blinkers fitted for the first time in this trial and finished powerfully to take over in the dying stages under a good hold. He was a touch disappointing last start but the tempo and bias on the day counted against him.


Astern was scratched from the Todman last Saturday with an elevated cell count but seems to have taken no harm judging by this impressive win. He was restrained to sit just off the pace before sprinting to win by a widening margin. He was given a good solid test and will line up in the Golden Slipper if he pulls up satisfactorily.


Ht 5. STRAWBERRY BOY (Chris Waller)
Jumped well and led narrowly out wide on the track. He was headed but fought on strongly to only be narrowly beaten. He has been freshened since a good second at the Gold Coast on Magic Millions day in fast time.

Ht. 10 AUSTRALIA JUSTICE (Clarry Connors)
Finished fourth behind Telperion after sitting wide in transit. Was gaining some ground over the final stages and will appreciate a little further on race day. Trialled in similar fashion here a few weeks back and looks suited at the provincials.
